Saturdays at MCB this summer, kids and families can discover Texas history and explore the stories of kids in the Coastal Bend from prehistoric times through today. Participants will gain insight into the daily life of a different group of children -- indigenous inhabitants, French colonists, Spanish missionaries, and early ranchers. Best for kids (and kids at heart!) ages 5+. All supplies provided. Suggested donation $5/participant to assist with supply costs. Pre-registration not required.
July 9, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. A Day at a Spanish Mission: Visitors can take part in activities that would have been part of a kid's typical day at a Spanish mission -- learn how to build a jacal, make adobe bricks, grind corn, rope livestock, and design your own brand. Enjoy a special visit with the Chick-fil-A cow!
