KIDStory Saturday - Ships & Cannons

  • Date(s): July 30, 2022

Saturdays at MCB this summer, kids and families can discover Texas history and explore the stories of kids in the Coastal Bend from prehistoric times through today. Participants will gain insight into the daily life of a different group of children -- indigenous inhabitants, French colonists, Spanish missionaries, and early ranchers. Best for kids (and kids at heart!) ages 5+. All supplies provided. Suggested donation $5/participant to assist with supply costs. Pre-registration not required.

July 30, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Ships & Cannons: Visitors can take part in activities that would have been part of a kid's typical day in Texas history -- be part of a cannon crew, build a boat, and navigate your own voyage.

Presentations:

12:30 & 2:30 p.m. Cannon-firing and steel and flint demonstrations with Scott McMahon, Director of Presidio La Bahia, Goliad.
