July 8, 15 & 22; 10 a.m.-1 p.m. each day.
The Museum of the Coastal Bend will feature a summer camp titled “Cabinet of Curiosities" for ages 8-12. Cabinets of Curiosities are the origin of the modern museum as we know it. Over the course of three Saturdays, participants will learn about the collection, preservation, classification, and display of their own found artifacts, objects, and items of interest. Students will assemble their own personalized “cabinet” to house their collection. The students will experience different aspects of assembling a collection of objects that will result in a finished display case on the last Saturday of the camp.
The camp will be held Saturdays, July 8, 15 & 22, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. each day. Please bring a sack lunch. Enrollment is limited to 12 students. Advance reservations are encouraged to reserve your spot. Minimum of 4 campers required for the camp to make.
